Discovery and Exploration Backpacks @ Your Library
The Glendale Public Libraries are now offering a collection of themed Discovery and Exploration Backpacks for families and patrons of all ages! These backpacks feature a variety of books, hiking resources and tools, including trail guides, binoculars, flashlights, telescopes, bug magnifying viewers and more, that can be used to explore the great outdoors at any of Arizona’s many parks and recreational sites, or even in your own backyard! Writer in Residence: Amy K. Nichols May-July
The library is hosting a Writer in Residence who will be onsite to write and provide instruction to aspiring authors. Amy K. Nichols is the author of the YA science fiction novels Now That You’re Here and While You Were Gone, published by Knopf Books for Young Readers. Meet one-on-one for expert writing advice or manuscript review or attend a workshop to learn new skills in craft and publishing. All experience levels are welcome. Click here for more information.

Did you know that visiting a garden is good for your health? It’s true! Come visit the Glendale Xeriscape (low-water-use) Demonstration Garden that surrounds the Glendale Main Library. With over 400 species of desert-adapted plants, the garden showcases landscape practices that are in harmony with the Sonoran Desert.
